What is Beyond a Helpline?
Small agencies need consistent, high quality, affordable HR support and this is not always easily available. Beyond a Helpline provides small homelessness agencies with exactly this, including coaching, policy and procedural templates available from the members-only area of this website, telephone and online support, HR surgeries, training, audits and more.

How Beyond a Helpline came about
In 2004, the
London Housing Foundation set up an Action Learning set for heads of small homelessness agencies in London. One of the issues that these agencies shared was their need for consistent, high quality, affordable HR support.
The Foundation responded by establishing a pilot scheme to provide high-quality HR support to small agencies tackling homelessness in London - Beyond a Helpline and selected homelessness agency
Broadway, which has an award winning HR department, to deliver the programme. Beyond a Helpline was launched in April 2006 and was simultaneously evaluated by Triangle Consulting.
In 2008, the programme was transferred to Broadway who will continue to offer the service via their
Real People Consultancy.
